Audiology Services Pediatric Clinic
- The focus of this teaching clinic is the behavioral (sound booth) assessment of hearing and functional speech perception skills.
- Infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children are evaluated.
- The hearing of children with disabilities also is evaluated.
- Family members are part of the audiologic evaluation and are invited to sit in the sound booth with the child
- Teachers and therapists also are invited to participate in the audiologic diagnostic session.
- Treatment recommendations are made for hearing aids, personal-worn FM systems, classroom amplification systems, and cochlear implants as appropriate for the individual child.
- Recommendations also are made for educational accommodations, as appropriate for the hearing capabilities of the individual child.
