Course Description

Industrial fire protection issues including:

* specialized process hazards
* application of OSHA and EPA codes and standards
* hazardous materials mitigation

* Emergency response
* Fire brigade organizations

* Optional - Industrial Fire Brigade Training-Incipient Level-IFSTA 1995 Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK.

Course Objectives

* Identify specific OSHA standards
* Ohio Fire Codes
* NFPA Standards related to loss prevention, fire protection, and life safety

Awareness of methods used to prepare and train employees for:
** fire brigade assignments
** hazardous materials awareness

* Conduct a hazard assessment
* Develop an emergency action plan for (employee) means of egress
* Community hazardous materials awareness

Importance of:
** proper handling of flammable and combustible liquids in industrial processes

Be familiar with:
** Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) laws impacting the use and storage of hazardous substances in the work place

** employee training requirements
