  • Q: Can I pay my student's bill online?
  • A: Yes! Students can authorize third-party access to their payment account on ZipLine. Your student would need to log-on to ZipLine, click on the "Finances" link, select "Make a Payment", and then "Authorize Third Party Access". Your student can create a password at this site to allow you to access their bill and pay online.

  • Q: How much does it cost to attend The University of Akron?

  • Q: My student is living in the residence halls. How do I find out the address to mail packages and other information regarding living on campus?
  • A: Click here to view the Family Guide to Residence Life & Housing. This document is designed to answer the frequently asked questions by family members of residential students.

  • Q: I'm interested in seeing my student's grade report. How may I obtain a copy?
  • A: Although grade reports are not mailed to students, they are available to students via ZipLine, The University of Akron's online portal. Your student is able to print off a copy of their grade report to share with you.

  • Q: I need proof that my student is enrolled full-time for insurance purposes. What is the easiest way to obtain this certification?
  • A: Click here to request an enrollment verification.

  • Q: Is my student attending class?
  • A: The University of Akron does not require the monitoring of class attendance, although some instructors do take attendance. This matter is best discussed between you and your student.

  • Q: How can I change my student's address or contact information?
  • A: Your student may change their address and emergency contact information by logging into their ZipLine account.

  • Q: My student is trying to enroll and the class(es) are not available.
  • A: Your student should contact his/her academic adviser. There are many reasons a specific course may not be available. Your student may not have the required prerequisite or simply may need department approval. The student's academic adviser will be able to guide them.

  • Q: When do semesters and summer sessions begin and end?

  • Q: We had a family emergency and my student is unable to attend classes. What should I do?
  • A: Your student should contact each of their professors to inform them of the situation. Each professor has their own policy for missed courses. It is also a good idea for the student to inform his/her academic adviser so that the adviser can stay abreast of the student's situation.

  • Q: Who do I talk to if I have concerns regarding my student's adjustment to college life?
  • A: Start by contacting your student's academic adviser. For University College Advising, call 330-972-7430. For Summit College Advising, call 330-972-7220. For Honors students, call 330-972-7966.
