Residence Life vs. Commuting to Campus Students always ask, "Should I live on or off campus?" The answer is - "It depends." The following information may help you to make the decision which is best for you.

Commuting to Campus
- Keep in mind the residency restrictions described above. As a first-year student, you may be required to reside in the residence halls.
- Commuter Central in the Student Union (1st floor) is dedicated to connecting commuters to the UA campus community.
- Commuting allows students to reside at home in a supportive (and often cost-free!) environment.
- Commuters have the same rights, responsibilities, and access to services on campus as do residence hall students.
- Because UA is located in downtown Akron, the campus is easily accessible by car or bus.
