Safety First! Staying Safe on Campus
- Campus law enforcement is primarily the responsibility of the University Police, UA's very own police department. The University's 32 full-time police officers are commissioned by the State of Ohio with full law enforcement authority and responsibilities identical to the local police department or sheriff.
- UA students claim that they feel very safe on campus, but it is important to remember that UA is in an urban location. Use common sense when traveling around campus.
- Lock your doors.
- Do not leave belongings unattended.
- There are over 200 emergency phones on campus - utilize them if needed.
- Carry your keys in your hand when walking to your car at all times.
- There is safety in numbers. Walk with a friend.
- Utilize campus patrol if you must be on campus after dark. Campus patrol is an escort service available 5:00 P.M. - Midnight, 7 days a week. Simply dial x7263 on any campus phone.
