The University of Akron is the first university in the United States to offer a Bachelor of Science degree in Corrosion Engineering. The University of Akron is planning to expand the program to include an interdisciplinary Ph.D. and M.S. degree(s) in the future.
Housed within the department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, the BS in Corrosion Engineering represents a unique blending of multi-disciplinary courses. Building on the traditional science and engineering foundation and a strong corrosion-specific core, this curriculum also integrates a unique set of management courses and co-op experiences that will prepare our graduates to immediately enter the workforce as contributing members of project teams.
