Career Software

Though you can use our career software without seeing a counselor, programs like SIGI 3 or OCIS work best when a student also is also working with a professional career counselor. Currently enrolled students may make an appointment to see a professional career counselor free of charge by calling the Counseling, Testing and Career Center at 330-972-7082. The Center is located in Simmons Hall - 306. A number of additional services that help students make career decisions are available (such as career testing).

SIGI 3 (System of Interactive Guidance and Information)

SIGI 3 is an extensive computer program for helping persons make career decisions. Unlike a test which you take once, you can cycle through SIGI 3 more than once, changing your personal profile of values, interests, and rating of abilities. When you start SIGI 3 you will be asked to to register with a user name and password. For simplicity, you may want to use your UAnet ID and password as your SIGI ID and password.

OCIS (Ohio Career Information System)

OCIS is primarily a career information system. The information is current and very detailed. Unlike books, career databases such as OCIS are updated all the time. OCIS has links to other rich sources of information on-line.
