12th National Gradutate Research Polymer Conference Record Success
The College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering was honored to host the 12th National Graduate Research Polymer Conference June 20-22, 2016. Over 500 attendees were present including 425 graduate students, 34 undergraduate students, and 29 post-doctoral students representing close to 80 colleges and universities.
Mike Makowski, PhD, Technology Manager at PPG Industries and 1991 PhD graduate of the Department of Polymer Science shares why he chose the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering and how his experience in the college and at The University of Akron has shaped his career path.
Dr. Younjin Min, Assistant Professor of Polymer Engineering, joined the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering Faculty in 2013. Formerly a postdoctoral researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, she received her PhD in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Kaushik Mishra, currently pursuing a PhD in the Department of Polymer Science, studied at the Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai, India before coming to The University of Akron in 2010. Kaushik is a member of our Polymer Science Student Organization and shares why he chose The University of Akron and his experiences here as a student.
