CQ Resources for Faculty

Use Rootracker to determine which students in your class completed CQ!

The time has come again to submit applications for next academic year's (Fall 2013-Spring 2014) Culture Quest programming calendar! Many of you may of noticed Culture Quest events being highlighted across campus this fall. These events were extremely well received by faculty and students alike and it is with great hope that Culture Quest can continue to highlight speakers and events that encourage diversity and awareness among the University of Akron community.

This year applications can be submitted online and will be processed on a rolling basis. Faculty intending on trying to gain inclusion into the Culture Quest series should complete the web form application below and ensure that you keep the specific goals of Culture Quest in mind:

  • To encourage students to discover and explore meaningful connections between scholarly insights and real world problem solving through their sustained and active participation in selected lectures, exhibits, performances, and scientific talks;
  • To stimulate students to participate in events that will move them from more familiar communities to explore and experience intellectually challenging intersections with and within less familiar communities;
  • To transform campus culture by enhancing collaborations—among faculty, staff, students, and communities—that are concrete, cross-disciplinary, global and local.

The following web form will allow you to make your request for support and/or inclusion in the Fall 2013-Spring 2014 Culture Quest experience.

As you can tell from our voting icon...this is a brand new campus initiative, building on our long tradition of serious and intellectually engaged co-curricular activities...so please do not hesitate to send us questions or ideas, anytime.

Finally, if you would like either of us to come and speak with your students, or you and your colleagues, about how to thoughtfully integrate CQ into your course syllabi...we would welcome that opportunity and look forward to those conversations.
