Through the generosity of Robert W. Helm, partner with Dechert LLP in Washington, D.C., and his wife, Margaret O. Helm, the couple created an endowment in honor of Mr. Helm’s father, Robert E. Helm, Jr. ’50.
The fund will support research in new and emerging polymer science initiatives. Robert E. Helm, Jr. earned a chemistry degree and had a successful career as a researcher in the tire industry. The photo shows Mr. Helm in the control room of Firestone Tire and Rubber Company’s Salinas, California facility in the 1980s.
