Twenty-two K-8 student teams from Northeast Ohio gathered at UA over the weekend for the FIRST LEGO League Competition, sponsored and hosted by UA’s College of Engineering and College of Education. The event provides an opportunity for elementary and middle school students in the region to do research and experience the STEM fields. This year's Champion Award went to The Mad Hatters (pictured right).
State qualifiers advance to the FLL Ohio State Championship, on Sunday, February 9, in Dayton, Ohio. Teams advancing are:

- Flaming Narwhals
- The Nerd Herd
- Brain Bots
- Kimera
- Twinsburg RoboTigers – Ambassador Team
- St. Hilary Saberbots - Ambassador Team
