What is a Certificate?

A certificate is set of courses that declares an individual has achieved a certain level of skills.

If you are interested in teaching or training others and do not wish to pursue a degree in Postsecondary Technical Education at the present times, you can obtain a certificate in training or teaching.  You can also pursue this option while you earn your bachelor's or master's degree in Teaching and Training Technical Professionals or another field of study.  This certificate is not a teaching licensure or credential. Certificate in Teaching and Training Technical Professionals

The certificate program in Teaching and Training Technical Professionals is a special course of study within the College of Education undergraduate and graduate programs to serve the practicing or prospective postsecondary faculty.

Admission

To participate in the program, the student should:

  • be formally admitted to The University of Akron as either an undergraduate or graduate student
  • make written application to the Program Coordinator
  • receive written notification from the Program Coordinator
  • consult with the Program Coordinator to formulate a program of study

This fully online certificate program is available to students living in these states

Requirements

A total of 18-21 credit hours is needed to obtain this certificate.
