Diverse educational professionals and community leaders who are committed to transforming the education practices within urban schools came together to present their best practices at a Summer Institute: Transforming Urban Schools: Sharing Multiple Voices on June 22nd at The University of Akron. Outstanding presenters shared practices that can be integrated into urban school classrooms in order to encourage educational transformation for all students.
A keynote address by Dr. Charles M. Payne was followed by a full day of interactive, professional workshops/breakout sessions and a follow-up discussion.
Cooperating Partners were the Akron Public Schools, the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, and the Canton City Schools.
