Transfer Student Resources

Who is a transfer student at The University of Akron?

A Transfer Student is a student applying for admission to The University of Akron who has formerly attended another regionally accredited institution of higher learning. If you are a transfer student and are interested in pursuing a degree from The College of Education, we strongly encourage you to visit the Transfer Student webpage to access application information, appointments for general course evaluations, and policies regarding the transfer process.

Resources

One of the many resources available for transfer students is u.select. This free website allows you to compare approved course equivalencies so you can begin researching your transfer options.

If you have complete any Education coursework, another valuable resources is the Transfer Assurance Guide maintained by the Ohio Board of Regents. The TAG courses are designed to assist students in transitioning between institutions within Ohio.

Most Education courses are evaluated for transferability on an individual basis. For any Education course that is not TAG approved, you could be asked to provide a copy of the syllabus in order to determine equivalencies.

For more information, please visit the Office of Student Services and speak with one of the preadmission advisers.
