Two UA students win AWP Intro Journal Awards

Two of UA’s NEOMFA students, Nick Sturm (poetry) and Joel Lee (nonfiction), have won AWP Intro Journals Awards this year. We had a total of four winners of this prestigious award from the NEOMFA.

  • Joel Lee, NEOMFA – The University of Akron. “Self: A Musical." Artful Dodge

  • C. Cooper Smith, NEOMFA at Cleveland State University. “The Classroom.” Puerto Del Sol

  • Pamela R. Anderson, NEOMFA – Kent State University. “My Brother’s Coat January 1943.” Controlled Burn

The Intro Journals Project is a literary competition for the discovery & publication of the best new works by students currently enrolled in the programs of AWP.
