Calling All Writers!

Rubbertop Review: An Annual Journal of The University of Akron and Greater Ohio blends tradition with innovation and is looking for excellent craftsmanship in fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, art, and anything beyond.

Each issue of Rubbertop will feature 1/4 of its content from undergraduate and graduate students at The University of Akron. The remainder of the journal will feature the very best of the submissions we receive. We solely consider the quality of writing and the passion for the craft.

Submissions are accepted October 1 - April 1

The fifth issue of the Rubbertop Review will focus on the theme of "Conversation." This theme may be interpreted as loosely or as rigid as the contributor sees fit. All submissions, however, should make an attempt to contribute towards this theme.

When submitting please keep to the following guidelines:

• All authors are able to submit one entry per genre (poetry excluded)
• Up to 7 poems can be submitted per author
• Short Fiction and Creative Nonfiction are not to exceed 4,000 words
• One-Act Plays are not to exceed 10 pages
• All art must be available in print-quality format
• University of Akron students should distinguish themselves as such
