Student Parking Permits

Fall Permits
Students who take more than five credit hours are assessed a Transportation Fee for that term ($115 for the fall and spring semesters, $75 for summer). This fee allows students to receive a parking permit on request (at no additional charge), and allows students unlimited access to the shuttle service. Students who are not assessed this fee based on enrollment can opt to pay it in order to receive a parking permit.
  • Commuter students can apply for a parking permit using this online application, and permits will be mailed out to your home mailing address about three weeks before the start of the fall semester.

  • Residence hall students can apply for a parking permit using this online application, and these permits will be distributed by the Department of Residence Life and Housing during move-in.
Summer Permits

All commuter and resident students, (not graduate assistants) who have not yet applied for their Summer 2009 parking permit must now apply in person, in the parking office. If the transportation fee is not currently on your account, then the permit must be paid for at the time of pickup.

(Note: The online application requires a valid UANET username and password. New employees who do not have this may complete a printed application and bring it to the Parking Office. Park legally while you pick-up your parking permit

Anyone visiting the Parking Office for the purpose of purchasing a permit may park in the gated visitor lot on Buchtel Avenue (directly across from the Parking Office) free of charge for one hour (if you stay longer than this you will be charged for the remainder of your time). If you do this, please bring the ticket that you received from the dispenser to the Parking Office for validation. If the visitor lot is full, then legal parking may be found at a meter. Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse you for money used to feed a meter.

Pay-as-you-go student permits now available

Parking Services will now apply the cost of one-day/temporary permits toward the eventual purchase of a regular student permit. Just keep the receipts from your previous purchases of one-day/temporary permits for that semester, and bring them with you when you purchase the regular permit. For example, if you paid $25.00 for a temporary permit for five days, and then brought that receipt with you when you came to the Parking Office to purchase your regular permit, then you would only be charged $90.00 instead of $115.00.
