Park legally while you pick-up your parking permit
Anyone visiting the Parking Office for the purpose of purchasing a permit may park in the gated visitor lot on Buchtel Avenue (directly across from the Parking Office) free of charge for one hour (if you stay longer than this you will be charged for the remainder of your time). If you do this, please bring the ticket that you received from the dispenser to the Parking Office for validation.
Pay-as-you-go student permits now available
Parking Services will now apply the cost of one-day/temporary permits toward the eventual purchase of a regular student permit. Just keep the receipts from your previous purchases of one-day/temporary permits for that semester, and bring them with you when you purchase the regular permit. For example, if you paid $25.00 for a temporary permit for five days, and then brought that receipt with you when you came to the Parking Office to purchase your regular permit, then you would only be charged $85.00 instead of $110.00.
Attention: University of Akron Parking Permit Holders
ONLY the Parking Services Department is authorized to sell and distribute University parking permits. Possessing or displaying a STOLEN, FORGED, or ALTERED permit, or altering or manufacturing a University permit is a criminal offense and subject to criminal prosecution. The University of Akron Police Department and Parking Services will be enforcing this policy.
