The University of Akron introduced a new print management system called “Zip Print” in the Fall 2002. The departments of Auxiliary Services and Technology Learning Support Services are pleased to provide this expanded service to students. This program will continue to be expanded throughout the University of Akron, as it is our goal to provide quality services that are convenient to the students.
Zip Print, the print management system developed by Pharos Systems, interfaces with the Zip Card system for accounting and authentication. The system requires users have a valid Zip Card identification card or a Courtesy Zip Card to obtain their printouts.
During the Summer session each student that is registered for the Summer Session will have $3.50deposited in their Zip Print account. This will allow them up to 50 free prints @ $0.07/page. These free prints may be used at the General Purpose computer labs, which are located at the College of Arts and Science room 103 and at Polsky room 267.
Printing at other Zip Print labs will be $0.07/page, which can be deducted from the user's Zip Card or Courtesy Zip Card "All Campus" account.
Users with cash can add money to their cards at Value Transfer Stations located in the Bierce, Science and Law Libraries. Money can also be added to cards at the Zip Card Office located in the Student Center. The Zip Card office accepts cash, personal checks, VISA, Master Card and Discover Card credit cards. Users with a credit card can also add money online office at the Zip Card website http://www.onlinecardoffice.com/uakron.
Your Zip Card provides a convenient alternative to cash. Activation is free plus there are no fees or dues. In order to use your Zip Card with Zip Print, all you have to do is register your Zip card, deposit money into your Campus Card account, then use your card to pay for your printouts, as needed.
