Professional Organizations

Active participation in professional organizations is essential to remain current in our profession and to be an advocate for our programs. Although it may seem like an alphabet soup of acronyms, it is well worth a FCS professional's time to investigate these important organizations. Although divisions of each organization is listed below due to their specialized information, the three primary national organizations for FCS teachers and professionals are Association of Career Technical Education (ACTE), American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS), and Family and Consumer Sciences Education Association (FCSEA.)
