12/01/2016 "Priority FAFSA Date" - File FAFSA by this date to be considered for the maximum amount of aid
05/01/2017 New Freshmen UA Scholarship Priority Date
New freshmen will be awarded scholarships based primarily on high school academic records and ACT/SAT test scores on file with the Office of Admissions. Students must be fully admitted to The University of Akron by May 1 in order to be considered for all available scholarships.
05/01/2017 Undergraduate Continuing and Transfer Students Deadline
Continuing and Transfer undergraduate students must submit a Scholarship Application no later than May 1 to be considered for private (endowed) scholarships for the following academic year.
08/18/2017 Fall 2017 Disbursement Begins
Disbursement begins for enrolled students. Disbursements will be made periodically once classes begin. Students can get a refund by direct deposit or check. Refund checks will be mailed to qualifying students 5-7 days after disbursement. Learn more
09/11/2017 Fall 2017 Pell Grant Census
The point in time that Student Financial Aid evaluates your official enrollment status for financial aid purposes. The actual time that Census occurs is at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) on the 15th calendar day of each semester. Your Pell Grant is based on your registration on the end of the Add/Drop period, also called the "census date." Additional courses registered after this date will not be covered by the Pell Grant.
11/01/2017 Transfer Students for Spring 2018
Transferring students should apply no later than November 1 for the Spring 2018 semester.

You must attend past this point to 100% of your financial aid. Learn more

File must be complete and student must be enrolled to receive available disbursement. Disbursements will be made periodically once classes begin.
1/30/2018 Spring 2018 Pell Grant Census

03/20/2017 Summer 2017 Awarding Begins
Must have a completed 2017-18 FAFSA on file and be enrolled in Summer classes to be awarded summer aid. Aid will be awarded if both criteria are met. Read more about summer aid here.
05/12/2017 1st Summer Session Disbursement Begins
File must be complete and student must be enrolled to receive first available disbursement. Disbursements will be made periodically once classes begin.
06/05/2017 Summer 2017 Pell Grant Census
The point in time that Student Financial Aid evaluates your official enrollment status for financial aid purposes. The actual time that Census occurs is at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) on the 15th calendar day of each semester. Your Pell Grant is based on your registration on the end of the Add/Drop period, also called the "census date." Additional courses registered after this date will not be covered by the Pell Grant. Grants will not disburse until 7/1/17.
