Family Education Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA)

This law governs how The University of Akron (and all other institutions of higher education in the United States) handle information and maintain confidentiality of eductaional records, which include financial aid information and application materials.

Standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress

In order to remain eligible for Federal Student Aid, students must be in compliance with the Standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress. Click on the link above to learn more.

Return of Title IV Federal Student Aid

This requirement applies to you ONLY if:

1. You received federal student aid (Pell, FSEOG, & Stafford Loans),

AND

2. You are totally withdrawing prior to completing 60% of the period/semester for which the aid was provided.
