On-Line Undergraduate Scholarship Application

The University of Akron offers more than $8 million in scholarship assistance each year to recognize the academic excellence of both new and continuing undergraduate students. The following application should be completed in order to be considered for academic scholarships.

New freshmen must complete a scholarship application and be fully admitted to The University of Akron by February 1 for priority consideration.

Scholarship Deadlines:

November 15* - Early Scholarship Deadline (new freshmen)
February 1* - Regular Scholarship Deadline (new freshmen)
April 1* - General Scholarship Deadline (continuing students)

*Preceding the academic year

General Requirements

In order to be considered for all possible scholarships, students should complete the family income section of this application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA should be completed as soon as possible after January 1, but no later than March 1 each year.

Applications may be submitted after the deadline, but aid will be given only as funds permit.

Scholarship recipients must be full-time students.

Eligibility Criteria for some scholarships include demonstrated qualities of leadership and service. If you wish to be considered for these awards, please mail us the following information:

  • Summary of school, or community activities and service, particularly those in which your leadership traits were exhibited.
  • Documentation of above. such as certificates of service, letters from school or community leaders, etc.
  • One or more letters of recommendation.
