Office of Student Financial Aid & Student Employment Study Abroad Financial aid is available for students who participate in study abroad programs, and who qualify for federal student aid.
Before your eligibility for aid can be determined, you must first be approved for participation by the Office of International Programs, located in 483 Polsky Hall.
NOTE: A Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be on file and all necessary verification documents must be submitted prior to determining an award.
Your financial aid award will be determined by many different factors. You must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). After completion of the application process, individual annual budgets will be developed by combining "reasonable expenses" for the specific program you will be attending, your time spent at the host institution, and your registration at the University of Akron during the alternate semester. Reasonable expenses include:
- Tuition & related expenses
- Room & Board
- Texts & Supplies
- Ground & Air Transportation.
