  • Oral and Poster presentations are for student researchers from the University of Akron and other Northeast Ohio institutions.
  • Presentations/posters may have multiple authors. Please indicate your involvement in a multi-authored presentation by checking the appropriate box.
  • The conference presentations will be judged and presenters will have the opportunity to win recognition.
  • There will be a graduate fair with Graduate Representatives from Ohio, Michigan, and other states.

    Complete the information below. The abstract of your research which you provide will be included in the conference program book. Please also indicate whether you are planning to conduct an oral or poster presentation.

  • Proposals will be accepted on a competitive basis until February 8, 2008.
  • Oral presentations will be scheduled together in related content areas. Oral presenters will be allotted 15 minutes (including question and answer).
  • Poster presenters will be provided a 4' x 4' poster area to exhibit presentations. We will not accept computer/3D presentations for poster presentations.
  • Poster presenters are Not required to submit their presentations electronically.
  • Upon receipt of your abstract, a confirmation letter will be emailed to you within 7 days.

Please note: If the abstract contains mathematical formulas, please use plain text.

For multiple authored papers-only one abstract needs to be submitted.

Audio Visual Needs

  • Remember to have a backup plan should technology fail. Conference planners cannot guarantee performance of A/V equipment.
  • Presenters who are planning to bring their own A/V equipment will be responsible for providing equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • If your presentation is large or if you are using a MAC based presentation, you may bring your presentation on the day of the conference if you arrive at least 30 minutes ahead of time to load your presentation. Mac users are welcome to use their personal machine but conference organizers will not be responsible for technical problems.
  • YOU WILL NOT be required to submit an electronic presentation.
  • Rooms used for oral presentations will have the following standard A/V equipment package: a flip chart and an overhead projector (presenter must provide transparencies and transparency markers).
  • PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY OTHER A/V EQUIPMENT NOT LISTED BELOW MUST BE PROVIDED BY THE PRESENTER.
