Honor your outstanding student researchers

The Conference on Undergraduate and Graduate Student Research (CUGSR) will be March 27th in the Student Union. The goal of the conference is to exhibit outstanding undergraduate and graduate research and promote student participation in scholarly activities. The conference has been designed to showcase partnerships between students and faculty mentors

Conference planners are soliciting recommendations for this year's CUGSR Outstanding Student Research Award. The award is given to an individual whose research endeavor is judged to be an outstanding contribution to his or her field of study. Additional criteria include: important question, strong theoretical rationale, systematic methods, likely to be publishable in a top journal, well-written summary and a strong letter of support from the research adviser.

The award recipient must be currently enrolled, have completed his or her research as a part of a UA program of study and a public presentation of the work must have occurred during the current or prior calendar year of the award.

To make a nomination, the advisor must submit a letter and the student's summary of research. The letter must address the student's primary and major contributions to the body of knowledge in his or her field of study and explain why the student's research is worthy of the award.

More details can be found here.

The deadline for submission of nominations for the Outstanding Student Research Award is March 6th. Nominations can be submitted electronically at cugsr@uakron.edu. This award will be presented at the annual CUGSR luncheon.
