Graduate Student Government Building a Diverse Community Graduate Student Government (GSG) is an organization supporting over 3500 graduate students and is open to all registered graduate students at The University of Akron. GSG consists of elected representatives from each graduate department, an executive board of officers and a faculty advisor.
The purpose of GSG is to govern the affairs of graduate students in a manner specified by its constitution and bylaws; to determine the sentiment of all levels of graduate students and the representation of sentiment at all levels of the University administration; to encourage social contacts between graduate students of all disciplines.
Graduate students are elected or appointed to many university bodies, including Graduate Council, Faculty Senate, and the Student Policy Committee of the Graduate Council.
