Driving to the morning Commencement? Leave home early
Marathoners may delay motorists heading to morning Commencement
Runners participating in the Gay Games marathon will be on the roads near E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall from 6 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 16.
Though we expect minimal delays, we recommend those attending the morning commencement arrive 15 to 30 minutes early, just to be safe. The doors to Thomas Hall will open at 9 a.m.
Traffic will be maintained both ways on all roads that are part of the marathon route. Police will be stationed at every major intersection near campus to help you get to Thomas Hall efficiently.
The map below shows the marathon route (in brown), and offers you recommended points to cross the marathon route (red pins). Police will be stationed at each red pin.
