GRADUATE STUDENT ORGANIZATION NEWS:

Spring 2010 Semester Budget and Project Description forms are now available for student organizations on the documents page.

Funding requests must be received by January 15, 2010.

All receipts for Fall 2009 must be received by 5pm on December 11, 2009.

All accounts will be cleared at the conclusion of the semester.

What is the Graduate Student Government?

Graduate Student Government (GSG) was founded in 2008 to support over 3500 graduate students and is open to all registered graduate students at The University of Akron.

The purpose of Graduate Student Government is to govern the affairs of graduate students in a manner specified by its constitution and bylaws; to determine the sentiment of all levels of graduate students and the representation of sentiment at all levels of the University administration; to encourage social contacts between graduate students of all disciplines.

What is the mission of Graduate Student Government?

  • To work with both graduate students and faculty to obtain an optimum educational and social atmosphere
  • Open lines of inter-departmental communication to both graduate faculty and students
  • Present developments within the Graduate School in an informative and timely manner
  • Express the concerns of the graduate student body through proper legislation
  • Maintain the highest level of responsibility and integrity to both the graduate faculty and student public
