What is LGBTU?

LGBTU is the University of Akron 's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Union. Our goal is to provide an environment in which gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students can freely assemble in order to provide mutual support and to address the campus and community on pertinent issues. We strive to develop educational programs in order to work towards the elimination of myths, misconceptions and stereotypes which are oppressive while working for the implementation and enforcement of University policies guaranteeing the right against discrimination based on sexual orientation.

This Tuesday, April 29th, is the last meeting of the semester. Prepare to party and hold end of year elections for next year. If you are interested in running, be at the meeting or talk to Abbey and let her know before the meeting. Hope to see you all there! It's been a wonderful year! Good luck with finals!

Hey guys! As the semester is winding down, think about running for an office for next year. Elections will be held the later in the semester, so be thinking about it!

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) gala was last Saturday and we had an awesome time. Thanks to everyone who came. At last week's meeting we raffled off a ticket to the event and had a good time as usual. Hope to see you this week!
