As you may have gathered from our name, LGBTU, we welcome all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and ally students, staff, and faculty. We believe in working together and ensuring all groups within our community have the protections, support and resources needed to have a wonderful college experience. Many times in order to make small steps of progress groups with in the LGBT community have been put on the back burner to allow for advancement for other groups in the community. The University of Akron's LGBTU does not believe in this process and will always work with the entire LGBT communities interests at heart.
