What is LGBTU?

LGBTU is the University of Akron 's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Union. Our goal is to provide an environment in which gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students can freely assemble in order to provide mutual support and to address the campus and community on pertinent issues. We strive to develop educational programs in order to work towards the elimination of myths, misconceptions and stereotypes which are oppressive while working for the implementation and enforcement of University policies guaranteeing the right against discrimination based on sexual orientation.

Don't forget our halloween party and costume contest coming to you on the 28th of October. It's on a Tuesday, in the Student Union Room 312. It will be held from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. just as our usual meeting time. It should be a blast and spooky enough for all! Come have fun with us!

Welcome back to a new semester! Our first meeting was on Tuesday, September 2nd. The first meeting was a huge success with lots of new faces. All of our meetings are held in the Student Union from 7 pm to 9 pm. They are held in Room 312 of the student union. This group is a great way to reconnect with old friends and to meet new ones! Come and see us again on Tuesday!
