Why Higher Education Administration at The University of Akron: I chose it for two main reasons. First, the program has a proven track record of preparing strong and successful college and university leaders. Additionally, I was attracted to the program because of its broad applicability to all facets of higher education. As one who has a variety of professional interests, I did not feel comfortable focusing my studies on one specific area within the field.
Fun fact: I was captain of the football team and had the lead role in the school play my senior year of high school.

Why Higher Education Administration at The University of Akron: The program focuses on Higher Education as a whole, which allows me to concentrate my papers and projects on International Education, but allows me to pursue the entire Higher Education field upon graduation.
Fun fact: I studied abroad to Australia during my senior year of college.

Why Higher Education Administration at The University of Akron:Higher education is passion of mine and I knew The University of Akron's program would provide me with valuable skills required in the field. I enjoy learning about all dynamics of higher education as well as interacting with our faculty members and classmates. I also did my undergraduate degree at The University of Akron and enjoyed the experience.
Fun Fact:I'm not a thrill seeker by any means but I took a helicopter ride over Niagara Falls 2 years ago and loved every minute of it!

Brandon Mikulski, Secretary
Program Start: Fall 2008
Expected graduation date: May 2010
Campus involvement: - Emerging Leaders Program Graduate Advisor in the Department of Residence Life and Housing
Field Pursuing in Higher Education Administration: Residence Life and Housing, Orientation, or Student Activities.
Why Higher Education Administration at The University of Akron: The program gives a very broad sense of the various functions of the service areas in Higher Education within the Student Affairs perspective. Having an interest to continue my profession in various departments, it helps broaden ones horizon. It was through my paricipation in NACA (National Association of Campus Activities) that I learned about Akron, its masters program, and the award-winning departments that exist across campus. Between the role and job description of my assistantship and the classroom knowledge, Akron has been an unbelievable opportunity for pursuing my master's degree.
Fun fact: I love spontaneous road trips and adventures.
