SAGE Mission Statement

The Student Association for Graduates in Education (S.A.G.E.) is an organization for graduate students in the Higher Education Administration program. Thus, membership includes students from The University of Akron’s College of Education department of Educational Foundations and Leadership. Our goal is primarily to foster a strong sense of community within the Higher Education Administration program. Our organization also attempts to create opportunities that will promote leadership, networking, and career development.

Our purpose is six-fold:
1) to open lines of communication among graduate students;
2) to serve as a resource for undergraduate education majors and organizations;
3) to create opportunities to enhance graduates student professional development;
4) to offer future-based strategies and information corresponding to research and development in the profession;
5) to foster leadership and networking for the membership;
6) and to support and encourage graduate student attendance at a national, state, and local professional meetings and conferences.
