Fall 2019 Flu Shots

UA Students interested in obtaining a flu shot can now do so at our Health Service Office. Cost of flu immunization is $25. Students with UA Student Health Insurance have no out-of-pocket cost. Students may be eligible to receive a flu vaccine at less or no cost from a pharmacy or retail clinic, such as CVS, if they have a different insurance plan.

Flu shots are by appointment only by calling 330-972-7808.

  • Payment accepted:  Credit/debit, cash, checks, and All-Campus Zip Card
  • If you have health insurance, you may want to contact your insurance company to learn if the flu vaccination is available to you at no cost at your primary care provider's office or various community retail clinics and pharmacies.  Student Health Services is unable to bill insurance plans.

The Center for Disease Control recommends a yearly flu vaccine as the first and most important step in protecting against flu viruses. Viral illnesses are very common on college campuses so you can protect yourself from the flu by getting a flu shot as soon as possible.

While there are many different flu viruses, a flu vaccine protects against the viruses that research suggests will be most common. Flu vaccination can reduce flu illnesses, doctors’ visits, and missed work and school due to flu, as well as prevent flu-related hospitalizations and deaths.

Everyone 6 months of age and older should get a flu shot.
