History degrees at The University of Akron
The University of Akron offers undergraduate, master's and PhD degrees in history.
With careful planning and the advice of faculty members, students can develop a sequence of courses that will prepare them for the fields of law, government, foreign service, and careers in various international organizations, journalism, business, or teaching at the elementary, secondary, or college levels.
The department offers the undergraduate student a variety of courses in European, American, Latin American, Asian, Middle Eastern, and African history.
Undergraduate Certificate Programs
The History Department matriculates a small class of new graduate students each August; our program’s size ensures individualized attention and considerable flexibility in designing one’s plan of study. Faculty and graduate students meet regularly for conversations about the craft of teaching history.
