Inclusive Excellence Honors Scholarships: The Inclusive Excellence Honors Scholarships represent a new scholarship program from The University of Akron. Up to ten IE Honors Scholarships will be awarded for students beginning their first year of study in fall, 2011. Inclusive Excellence Honors Scholarships will cover tuition and fees (after federal and state grants apply), and $5,000 toward on-campus room and board expenses for up to eight consecutive full time semesters at UA. The scholarships will be awarded to new Honors College freshmen with exceptional academic merit who meet UA’s institutional enrollment strategy. That strategy includes sensitivity to underrepresented groups, such as first generation college students; students with African-American, Hispanic, or Native American heritage; veterans; and non-traditional students. Preference will be given for those students demonstrating financial need.
Lisle M. Buckingham/Orr Family Honors Scholarships: The most prestigious honors scholarship. The award consists of tuition and fees, room and board, for up to eight semesters of an Honors student's academic program. Approximately six new awards each year.
