All offers of employment are contingent upon verification of credentials, satisfactory completion of a criminal background check, and approval by the University’s Board of Trustees. Part III of the Hire Process includes creating rationale that reflects why a candidate has been selected or not selected, extending a job offer, contacting non-selected interviewed candidates about the position’s status, officially closing out the search files, and on-boarding the successful candidate.
At UA, the hire process doesn’t end after a candidate has been offered the job. To help the new employee avoid common pitfalls and thrive from day one, many orientations designed to supply information about benefits, required compliance seminars, to information about UA and its culture, are offered by Human Resources in collaboration with other campus departments. Hiring departments are also encouraged to conduct departmental orientations for the new employee.
