Program Administration and Development The program is administratively housed in the Department of Biology (College of Arts and Sciences) and is managed by the campus-wide Program Committee. The eight participating departments have their representatives on the Program Committee, which oversee programmatic aspects of the Ph.D. program in coordination with departmental Graduate Committees, which oversee departmental aspects of student’s involvement in program (e.g., TA assignments). The immediate aspects of the student’s coursework and research are overseen by individual Ph.D. Advisory Committees derived from the diverse programs as well as local bio-related industries. The program is open to all University of Akron graduate faculty, who conduct their research at a bio-interface. |
