UA’s MBA program scores in top ranking

02/29/2016

For the first time in its history, The University of Akron’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) program was ranked by CEO Magazine as one of the top MBA programs in North America. CEO Magazine, an international publication based out of London, England, gave UA a ranking in its edition of Global MBA Rankings for 2016.

The magazine’s editors explained in the issue that they looked at the “nuts and bolts” of MBA programs globally, and handpicked exceptional MBA programs based on multiple factors, including:

  • Learning environment
  • Class size
  • Tuition fees
  • Faculty
  • Delivery methods
  • International diversity
  • Gender make-up

Dr. Ravi Krovi, dean of the College of Business Administration, explained what sets UA’s MBA program apart from other schools.

“The three distinguishing factors of our program are the connections to local business leaders, the unique blend of theory and practice that our professors provide, and the flexibility of the program,” notes Krovi. “Our program is applied, relevant and contemporary, and it helps students to develop a holistic way of thinking about business.”

Alon Rozen, dean of the Ecoles des Ponts Business School in Paris, praised the publication’s ranking system. “CEO Magazine has created a ranking that provides real insight, that looks beyond the veneer of marketing into the character of content, and that measures the key elements that truly define quality education today.”

UA’s MBA program has also been continuously ranked among the best in the nation by Bloomsberg Businessweek and U.S. News & World Report; it has been included in The Princeton Review list of Best Business Schools every year since 2005; and the MBA Concentration in Healthcare and MSA in Accountancy are both ranked as one of the top 25 Best Value programs in the United States.

The College of Business Administration also has the largest number of Fulbright Scholars in any graduate business program in the state of Ohio.
