Each year, the AAAS presents this honor to members who have made a distinguished scientific or social contribution or effort to the fields of science or engineering. Wang, of Streetsboro, was elected as a Fellow by his peers for his notable contributions to the field of polymer science.

“I love what I do for science and the best award is knowing that we have been doing important work," says Wang, who will be honored at the AAAS Annual Meeting on Feb. 14 in San Jose, Calif.

"On this occasion, it is never enough to indicate that it’s my students who have put 100 percent effort into the quest for the deepest level of understanding on various aspects of polymer science," adds Wang. "Without their contributions, there would not be any accomplishments to speak about.”
