Looking for a fun, educational and meaningful Martin Luther King Jr. Day event for the whole family? The University of Akron will host a Martin Luther King Jr. Activities Fair on Monday, Jan. 16, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the UA Student Union Ballroom. 

This annual event features more than 25 student and community organizations providing activities for students in grades K-12. Activities encourage nonviolence and civic responsibility and include face painting, coloring and crafts, dancing, gospel music performances, and historical information on the civil rights movement and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Key performances throughout the day will include: New Seasons Gospel Choir at 11:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.; Bridietz Drill Team at 12:45 p.m.; and Akron National Pan-Hellenic Council Greeks Stroll at 1:40 p.m.

The activities fair, hosted by UA’s Office of Multicultural Development, is free and open to the public. For more information, call 330-972-8287.
