To quote singer Van Morrison, "it’s a marvelous night for a moondance" when Dance Institute of The University of Akron presents "Moonlight Serenade" for Pointe to the Future 2013, a benefit on Saturday, March 23, at UA's E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall.

UA jazz pianist Joe Augustine and dancers from the Dance Institute will entertain guests throughout the evening on the moonlit stage. Cocktails and auctions begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m.

Lynn and David Lieberth are the guests of honor in recognition of their many contributions to dance throughout the community. Pointe to the Future raises funds that support programs for all UA Dance Institute students.

Tickets begin at $90. For more information and to download an invitation, visit the Dance Institute online or contact the institute at 330-972-7949 or cfoisie@uakron.edu.

Founded in 1967 and now directed by Christina Foisie, Dance Institute of The University of Akron is a pre-professional, preparatory dance program for children ages 3 through 18. The UA Dance Institute also offers adult classes.
