Add the Academic Calendar to Outlook, iCal or Google Calendar

Add the University calendar to Outlook 2007

Please note the following instructions were created on Outlook 2007 in Windows XP professional.  If you are using a different platform, operating system or calendar you may need to use a slightly different process to subscribe.

  1. With Microsoft Outlook 2007 open, go to the Tools menu.
    • Scroll down the "Tools" menu and click on Account Settings...
  2. With the "Account Settings" windows open, you should see seven tabs.  By default the window will automatically be on "E-mail." Click on the tab labeled Internet Calendars.

  3. In the "Internet Calendars" tab you will notice the three tools labeled "New," "Change," and "Remove." Click New.

  4. A window titled "New Internet Calendar Subscription" will pop up. You will be prompted to add the location of the Internet Calendar you wish to add. Copy and paste this into the Location box:
    • Academic Calendar:
    • Financial Aid Calendar:
    • Click Add.
  5. A window will come up giving you options to configure the Internet Calendar. Folder Name: Academic Calendar.
    • Click "OK"
  6. "Academic Calendar" should now appear in the "Internet Calendars" tab in the "Account Settings" window.  If it appears, you have successfully added the University Academic Calendar. Click "Close."

If you are unable to see the Academic Calendar immediately, make sure you are in the Calendar function in Outlook. On the left hand side of your screen under "All Calendar Items," you should see the University calendar under the category "Other Calendars." Make sure the box next to Academic Calendar is checked. The new calendar will usually display next to your current calendar by default. If you do not like viewing the calendars side by side, go to the "View" menu and click "View in Overlay Mode."

Add the University calendar to Outlook 2010

  1. With Microsoft Outlook 2010 open, select Calendar from the left column

  2. On the top ribbon, click on Open Calendar
    • Select From Internet... from the dropdown.
  3. In the New Internet Calendar Subscription box, copy and paste one of the following links into the box:
    • Academic Calendar:
    • Financial Aid Calendar:
    1. Click OK and then click Yes
    2. Academic Calendar should now appear under Other Calendars in your list of calendars.

    Add the University calendar to Outlook 2011 for Mac

    This feature is not supported by Microsoft at this time.  Please check back periodically for updates.

    Add the University calendar to iCal

    In iCal, create a new calendar. Go to "File" and click "New Calendar."

    A new calendar should pop up on the left. You may have calendars already listed such as Home and Work, the new calendar by default will be named untitled. Name it "Academic Calendar."

    Go to the Calendar menu and click Subscribe.

                    A window will come up which has a text field next to the words "Subscribe to."

                    Paste the following link into this field:

    Academic Calendar:

    Financial Aid Calendar:

    You have now set up the UA Calendar in iCal.

    Add the University calendar to Google Calendar

    1. Log in to your Google Calendar account.

    2. On the left side of the screen, in the box labeled Other Calendars, click Add.

    3.  A menu will pop up with different options. Click on Add by URL.

    4.  You will be asked for the address of the calendar. Copy and paste the address of the calendar you want to add into the box and click Add.

    You have successfully added the UA Calendar to your Google account.
