Testing Lab Procedures and Policies
Testing in Computer Based Assessment and Evaluation is done on a walk-in basis first-come first-serve, during the open lab hours of operation.
Note: Hours are subject to change without notice due to the University closings.
The following policies are designed to provide the best testing experience for all students. Students testing are expected to abide by posted policies and the direction of the CBAE staff. In addition, we ask that you respect others taking tests by remaining quiet at all times once you enter Schrank Hall North Room 152. Violation of Testing Center policies, cheating and attempts to cheat will be reported as academic misconduct to your instructor and University of Akron officials and are subject to University Disciplinary Policies.
Your UA Zip Card is required to take a test. Your name and your photo on the UA Zip Card must be completely legible.
Cell phones, electronic devices/accessories, and listening devices must be powered off AND placed out of sight the entire time you are in SHN 152.
Papers, notebooks, books and other personal belongings are not permitted on the desktop/visible while you are testing. The only items permitted on the desktop are those test materials given to you upon admittance to the testing center.
Under no circumstances are students permitted to write down or otherwise record test information.
Once you begin testing you may not leave the room and then return to complete your test. If there is an emergency and you must leave the room during your test, notify a proctor. Your test will be ended and your instructor will be notified of the emergency.
Computers in the testing lab may only be used for taking tests.
Only students who are testing are permitted in the testing center. Children are not permitted in the testing center. For their safety and in accordance to university policy children may not be left unattended while on campus.
The testing center is monitored by test proctors and under video/audio surveillance at all times. If you need assistance, raise your hand and a testing proctor will assist you.
Food, drinks and tobacco products are not permitted inside SHN 152.
