Design Development Services provides free training to faculty and staff to support the creation of instructional technology materials used in a University of Akron course. We currently offer the following training options.
Quality Matters (QM) is a faculty-centered, voluntary peer course review process designed to certify the quality of online courses and online components. Quality Matters has received national recognition for its peer-based approach to quality assurance and continuous improvement in online education. Online courses that pass formal QM peer reviews are eligible to receive national recognition for the course quality. The Quality Matters training course is a 4-week online course for faculty who wish to develop a new online course and who would like guidelines for developing an online course that will meet the QM benchmarks. This course is also available to faculty who wish to learn more about the QM process including how to submit an existing online course to Quality Matters for official review.
