A project team consisting of members from the Nursing Center for Community Health, The School of Speech Language Pathology & Audiology, Student Health Services, and Allied Health Technology was formed to discuss the federal mandated requirement for implementing an electronic medical records system.
The system would automate patient scheduling, automate patient accounts/billing, enable collaboration with patients on their care through a patient portal, enhance community well-being efforts, and provide real world training experiences for students.
The team completed the RFP process in July 2011 and review of vendor solutions in October 2011.
A vendor has been selected and the project has moved from the Implementation Phase into the detailed Planning Phase. Execution is anticipated to begin late January or early February 2012.
