Loan period for laptop rentals are one week. It may be possible to renew your loaner laptop based on Computer Solutions future computer availability. (Renewal request MUST be made in person and at least one day prior to the due date of loaner laptop.) Laptops are available as followes:
· Laptops are available for UA work related use only.
LAPTOPS ARE NOT FOR PERSONAL USE!
o Example: You are a University of Akron faculty,staff, or contract professional member and you have a conference out of town and you are a scheduled presenter. You may take a loaner laptop if you need a laptop for your presentation and your department does not have one available for your use.
o Example: You are a University of Akron faculty,staff, or contract professional member and you do not have a home computer or a department machine. You are in need of a computer in order to type out a test, a paper, or other work related item(s).
· There will be a penalty if the loaner laptop is not returned by the due date issued by Computer Solutions.
o Department is responsible if laptop is not returned on time, broken, lost, or stolen.
There will be a $100 penalty per day that the laptop is not returned. (Not to exceed replacement cost)
· Software that is included on loaner laptop:
o Internet Explorer
o Microsoft Office
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, and Outlook
o Additional software request can be made by the department if an available (if available and Computer Solutions has available license agreement with requested software vendor). Users do not have rights to install additional software.
o One form must be filled out for each laptop requested.
