The University of Akron has a yearly campus agreement with Microsoft that allows Microsoft Office (PC or MAC), Windows, Visual Studio.NET, Publisher, and FrontPage to be installed on all university computers. At this time there is no individual cost to departments.
Students may purchase a subscription license at greatly reduced costs. The University of Akron has elected for a student option for reduce cost to the individual students. For additional information on products offered please visit the following link Microsoft.

Students
In order for students to receive our discount you must be enrolled in at least one credited course. You must provide:
1. A valid University of Akron ID
2. Microsoft Student License Agreement (2 copies).
Students have only temporary rights to the software while they are enrolled in a credited course at the university. Students own the media they purchase. They do not own the software license. Permanent rights will only be granted upon successful graduation from the university. If at any point the student leaves the university without graduating, they will be responsible for removing and destroying any software installed.
Faculty & Staff
In order for faculty and staff to receive our discount you must be currently employed by the university. Former employees, third-party contractors and volunteers are not eligible for this program. To receive this software you must provide:
1. A valid University of Akron ID
Faculty and Staff only have rights to this software during their employment with the University. If at any point they leave the employment of the University of Akron including retirement all software rights end. At that time they are responsible for removing and destroying any software installed on a home computer.
