How to get the computer's name on Mac OS X



Your computer's name is a very important piece of information here on campus. ITS uses this to get information on your machine if it is connected to the University network. This help troubleshoot problems you might be having.


Click on the Apple Menu and select System Preferences to open the System Preferences Pane



Click on the Sharing Preference Pane to Open your sharing preferences.



The Computer Name is displayed at the top of the window.
