University to upgrade e-mail service

Next Monday, the University will upgrade the servers that host POP3, IMAP and Outlook Web Access from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. The only noticeable difference on that day will be the logon page for Outlook Web Access. All other functionality will remain the same until your mailbox is moved to the new system. Information Technology Services will be notifying you individually over the next several weeks as to when your mailbox will be moved. Highlights of the new system:
  • Increased mailbox capacity of 500MB (from 100MB);
  • New (x64-bit) hardware and operating system that will provide higher performance and increased scalability; and,
  • Outlook Web Access has been enhanced to look more like the Outlook client.

UA to install new access points in Quaker Square

The University will be installing new access points on floors 4 through 9 of the Quaker Square Resident Hall in the coming weeks. In addition to that the plan for network connections in each room is on the schedule for spring break. If you are experiencing difficulties inform your RA, they are in charge of scheduling assistance.
